At Making a Difference in Uganda (MDU), we believe that empowering women is key to creating thriving communities. Through our women empowerment program, we equip women with the tools, skills, and opportunities they need to break barriers and shape their futures.
Building Confidence and Independence
Our program focuses on providing women with training in skills such as tailoring, crafts, and small business management. By helping them start sustainable income-generating activities, we ensure that these women can support their families and contribute to their communities.
For example, through our entrepreneurship training sessions, women learn not only practical skills but also how to market their products, manage finances, and build confidence. These are life-changing lessons that allow them to take charge of their futures.
Real Stories, Real Impact
Meet Namirembe Salima, a single mother of six who joined our tailoring program in 2024. Before joining, she struggled to make ends meet. Today, Salima owns a small tailoring shop in her village Mutungo Kito, earning enough to send her children to school and provide for their needs.
Salima’s story is just one among many. Women like her are proving that, with the right support, resilience and determination can overcome even the toughest circumstances.
