Francis’s Story: A Hygiene Kit Can Change Everything
Kavubbu Francis is only 12 years old. Originally from Kakumilo, Gayaza, he now lives on the streets of Kisenyi, Kampala’s most crowded slum. For Francis, “home” is a corner of a busy street where he lays his head at night, surrounded by noise, cold, and uncertainty.
Life in Kisenyi is unforgiving, especially for a child. Francis has no soap to wash, no clean clothes to wear, and no toothbrush to start his mornings. On the streets, these basics are not just about hygiene they are about survival, dignity, and being treated like a human being.
Yet, despite the hardship, Francis carries dreams bigger than the streets he sleeps on. He wants a future where he doesn’t have to beg or struggle, where he can go back to school, play freely, and live with dignity.
